we were strangers (part: three)

you are always going

to be scared

even when you are

doing

exactly what you want to be

doing.

and you are doing

it.

you are always going to

be doing

something

now.

look at you

look at your growth

as you disperse

submerge

yourself in to

a career

of constant cleansing

through expunging

all of your demons

through exposure to

love;

without romancing

too much

the imagery depicted

in photographs

of leaking lights

and dandelions

flowing up the skirts

of spring,

those weeds must be pulled

some time

and they will hurt;

sore your muscles

numb your fingers

and hands

bending your spine

in ways you never

thought possible

but you couldn’t

bend this way

without a backbone.

we were strangers

when we met

and that is what makes

this a crusade

this is what made

everything worth it.
